Cookie Policy

This list was written from the code, not from a template. Every item below is one this site can actually load, checked against the build and against the tag manager container it replaced.

What a cookie is, briefly

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. Some are needed for a site to function at all. Others exist to count visitors, to watch how pages are used, or to recognise you somewhere else later. The difference matters, because under EU law the second kind needs your permission first and the first kind does not.

Easify Technologies operates from Budapest, Hungary, and this site is aimed at visitors in the EU, so the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive apply to it regardless of where you are reading it from.

This site sets no cookies of its own

No session cookie, no login, no cart, no personalisation. The one thing this site stores about you is your answer to the consent banner, and it is kept in localStorage rather than a cookie, because nothing on our server needs to read it. It never leaves your browser, and it holds nothing but four true or false values and the date you chose them.

That leaves the third parties, which are the real subject of this page.

What loads only after you say yes

Nothing in the tables below is present in the page until you have accepted the matching category.

This is worth being precise about, because most sites work differently. The common approach is to load Google's tag first and then tell it not to set cookies yet. We do not do that. The script is not in the document at all, so the request to the vendor's server is never made. If you decline, or if you ignore the banner entirely, none of these companies learn you were here.

Clarity is the most intrusive item in this category and the one worth understanding before you accept it. It replays sessions. It masks text input by default, so what you type into a form is not captured, but it does record where you moved and clicked.

Both are advertising pixels: they report back to the platform that paid traffic converted. Meta and Reddit may combine that with what they already know about you from their own platforms, which is the part worth weighing when you decide.

Visitor identification, and why it is switched off

Two more services belong to the marketing category and deserve their own heading, because they do something different from measuring an advert.

Both are switched off on this site. They ran on our previous WordPress site, on every page, for every visitor, with no consent step in front of them. When this site was rebuilt they were not carried across on that basis.

They remain wired into the marketing category, so if we ever switch one on it will run only for people who have accepted marketing, and this page will name it as active on the day that happens. It is written down here so that enabling them has to be a decision rather than something inherited.

What loads without asking, and why

Two badges in the footer are embedded from the organisations that issued them, rather than shown as screenshots, so you can click through and check the rating at source instead of taking our word for it.

• Clutch review badge. Sets __cf_bm on clutch.co, a Cloudflare bot-detection cookie that expires after 30 minutes. It belongs to Clutch rather than to us, and we cannot read it.
• TechBehemoths awards badge. No cookie observed. When their service does not answer, which happens, the slot falls back to the same badges served from our own domain.

Neither sits behind the consent banner, and that is a deliberate judgment rather than an oversight. An award badge is not measurement: it identifies nobody, it follows nobody, and the only cookie involved is a short-lived security measure of the kind normally treated as strictly necessary. Both load only if you scroll far enough for the footer to reach your screen, so a visitor who reads one page and leaves triggers neither.

If you would rather they never loaded, a browser set to block third-party cookies stops the Clutch cookie, and nothing on this site breaks.

What we deliberately removed

Our WordPress site loads Google Tag Manager, container GTM-NLDCKMH. This site does not, and the reason matters to you rather than only to us.

A tag manager can load anything, and its contents are changed outside the site's own code. That makes the categories on a consent banner unreliable. We tested it: with statistics accepted and marketing declined, the container still loaded Facebook's script, because a Meta tag lived inside it. A banner that cannot honour the box you ticked is worse than no banner.

So every tag that container held is now loaded directly, one at a time, each behind its own real category. The list on this page is the complete list. If something is not named here, it is not running.

Refusing, or changing your mind

Use Manage cookies in the footer. It reopens the banner with your current choices, and a change takes effect immediately: declining a category you had accepted stops those scripts loading on the next page you visit.

Every major browser can also block or delete cookies, and can be set to block third-party cookies specifically, which is enough to prevent everything on this page:

• Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
• Safari: Settings → Privacy → Prevent cross-site tracking
• Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Enhanced Tracking Protection
• Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Blocking all cookies will not break this site.

Changes

This page is versioned with the site, and the date at the top is the last time it changed. It is updated whenever a service is added or removed, not on a schedule.

When a vendor is added to a category, everyone is asked again rather than having the earlier answer carried over. Consent to Google Analytics is not consent to something that did not exist when you gave it.
