Social Media Management Marketing
Social media run on the one or two platforms that suit your business, with a realistic posting rhythm and reporting tied to enquiries rather than likes.
Being straight about this channel first
For most of the businesses we work with, social media is not where the customers come from. Search, referral and directories do more. That is worth saying before you buy anything, because a lot of social media marketing is sold on an implication that does not survive contact with the analytics.
What it does do, reliably, is make you look like a company that exists and is currently working. A prospect who found you through search will often check your profiles before they get in touch, and an account last updated fourteen months ago answers a question you did not want asked.
That is a real job, and it is worth doing well. It is a smaller job than the market usually suggests.
What we do
Work out where to be. Based on who buys from you, not on which platform is being written about. For business services that is usually LinkedIn and little else. For anything visual, Instagram. For some clients, one platform properly and nothing else.
Set a cadence that survives. With a content approach built on what you are already doing: projects, results, decisions, things learned. Photographs of real work outperform designed graphics in almost every account we have run.
Write and publish, consistently. In your voice, not in the voice of a brand that says "we are excited to announce".
Report on what it did. Including when the answer is that a month was quiet.
What we will not do
Buy followers, or use engagement tactics that inflate numbers without effect. Post daily for the sake of a metric. Or claim credit for revenue we cannot reasonably attribute.
Where this works best
Alongside something else. Social plus search, or social plus a content programme, where each makes the other work harder. As the only marketing channel for a business selling considered services, it is usually the wrong first investment, and we would rather point you at the right one.
How it works
- One or two platforms, done properly
- Being present on six platforms badly is worse than two well, and it is what most small teams end up doing. We work out where your customers actually are, which is usually narrower than expected, and put the effort there. That often means deleting accounts, and we will say so.
- A rhythm you can sustain
- Three posts a week that continue for two years beat a daily plan abandoned in month two. We size the cadence to the resources that genuinely exist, including the time your own team can give. An ambitious calendar nobody can maintain is the standard failure in this channel.
- Content from the work you already do
- The most effective material is usually the least produced: a project going live, a problem solved, something your team learned this week. We build a way to capture that as it happens rather than inventing content from nothing every Monday, which is how accounts end up posting motivational quotes.
- Measured against enquiries where it can be
- Reach and engagement are inputs, not results. We track what we can attribute to enquiries and are honest about the rest, because a lot of social influence is genuinely hard to trace. What we will not do is present follower growth as though it were revenue.
- Community management with a real response time
- Comments and messages answered within an agreed window, escalated to you when they need a real answer. An unanswered question under a post is visible to everyone who reads it later, which makes it worse than no post.
